The Counsellor will provide pre-test and post-test HIV counselling, communicate HIV test results to clients who request them, and deliver ongoing psychosocial support to RHSP clients, patients, research participants and community members. The role includes supporting couples counselling, partner notification and HIV disclosure, conducting HIV/AIDS and general health education, and promoting HIV prevention practices, including condom use.

The position involves participating in community mobilisation and counselling meetings, preparing regular field reports, contributing to bio-behavioural health data collection and representing RHSP responsibly in study communities. Applicants should hold a relevant degree or diploma in Counselling and Guidance, Community Psychology, Social Sciences, or Social Work and Social Administration, and be fluent in spoken and written English and Luganda. HIV counselling experience, a relevant certificate and motorcycle riding skills are added advantages. Fieldwork and a willingness to commence within six weeks are expected.
