RHSP is seeking qualified Laboratory Assistants to support field and station laboratory operations serving the Rakai Community Cohort Study, related field studies, the ART mini laboratory, and the main station laboratory. The successful candidates will collect and process biological specimens, perform point-of-care diagnostic tests, maintain sample integrity, document laboratory results, and support the proper operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
The role requires adherence to laboratory SOPs, biosafety and infection-prevention procedures, quality requirements, waste-management guidelines, and appropriate management of laboratory supplies and RHSP assets. Candidates must hold a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology, be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council with a valid Annual Practicing Licence, and have at least one year of experience in a medical or research laboratory. The position also requires willingness to travel and work in rural settings.
